How To Insulate And Seal Pipe with Use Aluminium Foil Tape?

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, "In a typical house, about 20 per cent of the air flowing through the ductwork is lost due to duct leaks, holes and poor duct connections. The result is that no matter how the thermostat is set, utility bills will increase and it will be difficult to keep the house comfortable."

 Aluminum Strip, Aluminum Strip Supplier

Just as a leaky faucet slowly but steadily wastes water, the ducts in your HVAC system can prove to be a surefire place to lose dollars, waste energy, and sacrifice air quality. Insulated ducts using insulation can solve this problem by making sure to use the aluminum strip to ensure the insulation is well sealed. Next, the aluminum strip supplier will share them with you.

Follow these steps to insulate and seal ducts with foil tape.

1. Check all pipes for holes and ensure that the joints between ducts and joints are tight.  Seal all leaks/leaks with aluminium foil tape.

2. Consult the insulation manufacturer's instructions for information on how to measure the required insulation length so that the insulation fits well around each conduit and is not so tight that compressing the conduit is not too loose and thus ineffective.

3. For an excellent fit, you can trim off approximately 2 inches of insulation from the backing to create a fold that overlaps the end of the wrap and provides a smooth surface to place the tape.

4. Wrap the insulation around each pipe so that the vapour barrier liner is facing outwards. Carefully seal each seam with foil tape.

Continue along the length of each duct, ensuring that each roll of insulation is securely taped to the adjacent strip of insulation.

As well as saving money and increasing the efficiency of the system, HVAC systems improve air quality when they work as designed. The ductwork in houses, when damaged, can act as a method of spreading particles such as dust, which can easily exacerbate breathing and allergy conditions.

In addition, we believe it is best to check your pipe regularly, especially if

1. After an installer or maintenance person has worked on your loft.  A simple missed step can lead to damage to your ducts. Even an accidentally dropped tool can create a small hole, which can add up to significant energy loss. (A foil tape patch will save your day!)

2. If you are upgrading your air conditioning system and don't want to spend the money to replace the ductwork, an inspection and a little foil tape can make the ductwork more reliable, resulting in an optimally functioning and energy-efficient system.  The most acclaimed HVAC units are nothing without adequately sealed ducts.

3. If you see unsubstantiated increases in your utility bills (which are not the result of increased supplier costs)

If a particular space or room seems difficult to heat or cool Sealed and insulated ductwork goes a long way towards the economy, better climate control and a cleaner environment.
